For over 40 years, Joe Ahoy (Joe Benford) has been building high quality bulkheads, docks and decks. Joe was one of just a handful of bulkheading contractors when he started his business in 1982. In 1997, when most everyone was still using CCA treated lumber for their bulkheads, Joe made a bold move and used only vinyl. Sure it was risky and some homeowners chose to go with a more traditional approach (and a different contractor), but the vinyl material is still standing up to the NJ waterways, and the CCA treated wood bulkheads put in during that time have long since been replaced.

It all starts with an idea

Joe is not just a contractor, he also applied for a patent for a new, more efficient and better holding design of helical piles.
